Founded in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010, Love Orphanage exists to directly improve the lives of children from the most impoverished conditions in Haiti. The goal is not to adopt them out; the goal is to LOVE and give every child a chance to thrive.
A Place to Bloom in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti
Love Orphanage was founded by Gabriel Fedelus, a Haitian native from the region of Gonaives, who saw the need for homes for children after the earthquake urgently, as Haiti does not have any social services departments for children and relies on private orphanages to provide safe places for kids in need.
On April 7, 2011, with 2 rooms and a few blankets, Love Orphanage welcomed its first 4 homeless children to their new home. Love Orphanage has since grown, currently supporting 20 children ages 3 to 15 years old.
An incredible woman in Philadelphia named Ahaji Schreffler fundraises and supports the children of Love O. We are thrilled to partner with her for this project.
With your help up to 15k, we are building clean water system for the children. For an additional 25k, we will install a solar power system as well.
Love O. staff is currently building a new home for the children to live in (and hopefully to expand to take in more!) but they need support to bring clean water and reliable, safe power to the home.
Can you help us?
